Landscape Plein-Air Watercolor
with Tom Owen (Sessions 1 & 2)

This class will deal with the problems and joys of painting plein-air. Painting locations include areas around the Pikes Peak Region. Subject matter will be red rocks, water - still and moving, and architectural subjects. The course
will use small to mid-sized canvases for outdoor painting. Don't miss this opportunity to study with Tom Owen, instructor for 30 years, and Award-Winning professional artist! Session 2 is a continuation of Session 1, although you can do one or both sessions.

Session 1: Monday–Friday 9 a.m. –Noon | Class runs July 7th-11th
Session 2: Monday–Friday 9 a.m. –Noon | Class runs July 14th-18th
$140 or $115 (members) per session

Tom OwenThomas J. Owen grew up in the central Pennsylvania
community of Elizabethtown. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University, where he was an all-conference football player. Owen became interested in pursuing art when, after obtaining a teaching degree in biology, he happened to take an evening art class. Owen went on to study with Robert E. Wood, Ed Whitney, and Rex Brandt and has established himself as one of the Southwest's premier landscape painters. Owen has won over 50 awards in National and International exhibitions including the prestigious Rouse Gold Medallion in the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolor, the Juror's Choice in the San
Diego International Watermedia exhibition, and Best of Show in the Society of Watercolor Artists.

Surface ( watercolor canvases - small and medium sized OR watercolor block small or medium OR Watercolor sheets)

If students already have supplies, they can bring what they have and Mr. Owen will determine what else they need.
