Painting Portraits and Clothed Figure Outdoors and Indoors
with Dan Schultz

This workshop will explore the differences between painting outdoors and indoors using oils, with portraits and clothed figures as subjects. We will probably spend the most time painting live models outside (depending on weather), but will also practice in an indoor setting. Lighting differences will be talked about in depth, as well as how color is affected by the different kinds of light sources. We will also discuss how to best use photography in these settings to serve as source material for studio work. Students should have experience painting portraits or figures (preferably from life) to fully benefit from this workshop..

Three Days | Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 11–13, 2008 | 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | $275
